Acoustic Help

I'm going to buy an acoustic guitar first, and I've played some before. There seem to be two types: one has the typical body, and the other a more round one. I prefer the feel of the round one, like Kurt Cobain's Nixon marked one. Apparently it's an Epiphone Texan

just look around on say musicians friends.com, put your price range say 500- 600 dollars, or what ever your willing to spend, and look at the price ranges below, if you find one you like, go to a local muci shop and see if they have it and there other guitars that are similar in shape.

also you could try Tanglewood guitars. I've tried a few in shops etc. and they are great for the price.

There's a Tanglewood guitar on eBay about a city away from me and I'll probably get it because it was really cheap when I last looked, but it's more this shape than the one above which I'd ideally have. Do those shaped guitars (the one Kurt is playing in my original price) have a specific name?

It looks a bit like a jumbo sized one. Either that or a grand auditorium style...

yeah, it's definitely a jumbo of some sort. seagull makes great, relatively cheap acoustics and they have a few jumbos: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/navigati ... umbo&Nty=1

i think they're a canadian company though so they may be more difficult to find in the UK...? also epiphone/gibson are known for their jumbos. the one pictured above is a dreadnought, which is pretty much the standard acoustic shape. jumbos can be a little louder than dreadnoughts but don't have put out as much high-end.
