Well hell. I've been playing guitar since the mid 90s, not so much the past 4 years and not at all the past 2 years. I'm ambidextrous and I use to learn songs playing either way, but eventually just played left handed.
Thousands of dollars later all I had left was a POS that needed some work done to it, and my right wrist can't really stand up to playing. I'd thought about swapping to right handed a few years back, when it use to throb anytime I played. Instead, I just gave up playing. (though there were other reasons)
So I've been looking on ebay lately, trying to find something cheap just to bang on, but the thought of my now "ok" wrist swelling up again (i gots them carpals!) and the stillcompletelackofanyselectionworthaflyingpigturd, I said to hell with it I'm swapping now.
I saw a Jagmaster, for $220 + 20 shipping, and thought that'd be a great choice. Then I saw they are 250 + 0 shipping brand new, so grabbed one and a 10 watt Marshall amp for 3 payments of around $110 a month.
I'm happy, I'm excited. I know this is going to suck, knowing so many songs in my head and having to PRACTICE to know how to play them backwards. I made the analogy last night, it's like you were paralyzed in an accident, you know HOW to walk, but still you find yourself in therapy, using your hands to guide yourself, taking baby steps with a nurse holding you up.
Yeah, it'll be like that. :/
I was very tempted to buy a Jaguar or one of the humbucker Jaguars, but I can't justify spending more then $300 for a hobby I probably won't enjoy as much as I should, ya know?
