tragictravisty how much do they affect SUSTAIN? (as opposed to tone) and also will an alnico V pickup in the bridge affect sustain less than in the neck position? anybody know what magnets are in the dragsters in my jag HH?
Fran Yeah, they are called Crap Magnets lol.This is a tricky one, i think magnets are more associated with tone generally, but maybe i'm wrong. Any part of contact with the string such as nut, bridge, etc. effects sustain more.
tragictravisty i would think an alnico V pickup in the bridge would affect sustain less, because exerting force on the string with your finger at the bridge causes the string to move less than the same amount of force exerted at the 12th fret
