AshleyNirvana My Squier Strat is a bit heavy for me, and I've heard about the Mustang being quite a light guitar. My question is, is the Mustang lighter than a Squier Strat, and how does the Jag-Stang compare to the Mustang in weight?Thanks dudes!
tylerfender the mustang is lighter than a strat,when my mustang came and it was still un opened in the box it was light, lighter than any of my other guitars. true story 😆 the jagstang probably compares closely to the mustang, i wouldnt know cause i have a custom jagstang and mine is made out of ash which is pretty heavy, but a real jagstang prolly isnt much different than a mustang.
robertoriginal does your mustang have contours?i would imagine that if it does it is lighter than the j.s.mainly becuz of the slab body design and the fact that on the upper(and maybe lower) bits there is more wood mass.probly no more than .8 pounds heavier.
AnotherTool Yeah he's correct, the jag-stang and mustang are about the same weight, which is alot lighter than a strat.
JaguarOW i always thought that my squire strat was quite light actuallybut then again i had a stagg lp before it which is about twice as heavy

grunge-fan it all depends on the wood, i have a 95 mustang and its the lightest guitar ive ever played, but i played a 65 reissue and its pretty heavy in comparisson to the 95'
