Jazzmaster tracing

Hi everyone,

Since all I can find are templates, can anyone do a tracing of a Jazzmater body for me? I feel confident enough to take on the bridge and pickup placements. Thanks in advance.

1. Didn't you already ask this in another thread?

2. It is my opinion that a tracing isn't going to do...it's fine for the general shape of the guitar, but there are things here you need to concider. First of all, if the distance from the neck to the bridge is off, it'll never intonate or sound right. You need a proper blueprint.

3. Have you tried to just find a body on ebay or even checked out Warmoth?

I was asking about templates, thought I'd have better luck with a tracing. I'll probably break down and buy the templates, but I'd feel better if someone here has used them. I understand the intonation and bridge placement issues, I probably will end up with a Jazzmaster shape, but I'm thinking about different pickup/electronic things, as well as using a hard-tail string through approach.

didn't answer the last bit, I want to make the body and neck from scratch, I've done two mustang refinishes, built one tele style body from scratch, now I'd like to do both a neck and the body Jazzmaster style.

hmm....well CROSS is certainly the guy to ask, but he almost never posts here...perhaps you could track down his info and fire an email off to him.

Also, if I were going to build my very own Jazzmaster, this is what I'd do:

1. Buy the neck and body off ebay.

2. Make my own blueprints of the neck and body.

3. Build the neck and body

4. Sell the purchase from step 1 on ebay

5. Dance a jig cause I'm a genius

6. Have a beer. 😁
