jag wiring

hey asll, i need some pointers on wiring a cool rail into my jag.

ive taken it all apart but i dont know if SD colour coding as the same as fenders, so ive no idea what wire goes where.

i figured the white one should go where the white one was and the same for the black, but where do red green and bare go?

the paper that comes with the pick up says what the coding is.

i can't help, but the pu should tell you what goes where...but before you get in too deep...if you are unsure take it to a shop and have a pro help...the financial cost will be minimal, but the emotional cost you suffer from being juddged by the tech for putting THAT pickup in THAT guitar may leave you broke and take away the joy you get from playing music.

But anyway the red and white wires should have the ends stripped and be taped together and the green and bare go to ground the black wire replaces your old pickups red wire.

am i right?

well that was some help, except my old pickup only had black and white wires, no red.

but my white wire was connected to a switch and the black was grounded, so black this time goes to the switch, red and white go together and geen and bare ground to the volume pot yes?

just solder together and then tape the wires it says to tape together and then it would seem from your description, youd just replace the white wire with the black one and the black one with bare and green

well i'll just connect it all up that way and see if it works, its not like its gonna burst into flames or fry a component is it?

nah, worst case scenario is its some wierd out of phase with itself combination or something.

im 99% sure you have to switch some wires around with fender pick ups being used with it. i think black and green get switched maybe...

its ok guys it worked fine.

sounds great too, just what i wanted from it, great combination with hot rails.
