first of all, good sentence. oak is incredibly stiff, which is considered bad for building acoustic guitars (soundboards at least) but for electric guitars, while it is generally considered that good acoustic tone = good electric tone, the strings are what create the sound, so whats really important is the effect of the wood on the strings, NOT vise versa. so, since oak is so stiff, it will resist string vibration, resulting in lots of sustain, and i would think full frequency range. might be heavy, so i'd suggest maybe taking some wood out on the sides, but leaving lots especially around the bridge. i havent forgotten about my guitar building dreams, just postponed them. summer ftw! w/job, hopefully i can put together a few pedals, a studio, and a guitar or two.
