Here's a pic of tyem side by side. The Jagmaster actually has a slight improvement over the Jaguar, the truss rod adjustment is bullet style at the headstock. As you can see the dimensions/colour is just the same (tho they look a little different in this photo. Even the machine heads are the exact same.

The Jagmaster has been living in it's case for 2 years or so, it needs a good clean!! 😆

Rosewood!?!?

You mean the fretboard, surely... Haven't all Jagmaster necks got rosewood too?

As far as I know yes.

My Jagmaster has a rosewood fretboard. And I have never seen one that doesn't.

They never made a maple fretboard neck for the Jagmaster, atleast not for retail. But i think everyone knows that, they're just talking nonsense again. 😆

i never said jagmaster. i said vista. i dont know whether vistas are strictly rosewood, but they may very well be.

There is a Squier Musicmaster up on ebay at the moment (vista series) and that has a rosewood fretboard.

The Super-Sonic and Venus (eeewww) also seem to have rosewood fretboards.

No thanks. Besides, for the cost of shipping it you could probably buy one locally. 😆

I'm seriously thinking of picking up a mustang body to make a new guitar (I miss my old Mustang and Musicmaster), if I do that I'll probably take the neck off the Jagmaster for that.

Nah, there's nothing locally. Although, there is a Squier 51' i've had my eye on..$200, still a little iffy.

I have a feeling 51's are only going to increase in value. Fair bit of demand for them. Modders heaven if that's what you're into.

The bridge pup on the 51 is really good. Highly recommended

Are you talking about a Squier Standard Series Tele?

I've never played one, but I own a Affinity Tele (a couple of steps down from the standard, apparently) and I quite like the thing, especially since the neck pup got replaced. I love the necks on Squiers, much thinner finish than Fender's so my hand doesn't stick to them when things get sweaty...

I was talking about a Fender standard. I really dig the vintage deluxe by squier (i think its called). Semi-hollow body, f-hole, in shore line gold. But i prefer maple fretboards to rosewoord so i dont know about that...

Well, I guess that's true if you wanna get technical.

But to my hands, a gloss finish FEELS thick, and a satin finish feels like bare wood.

Anyway I'm sure if you measured the thickness of the finish, the gloss would be thicker...

Either way, I love the gloss finish and will take it whenever I can.
