a new DD-7 or even a second hand DD-20 is all the delay you will ever need; the analogue models are amazingly accurate. DD-3 and echohead are good though, as well as the digiteck digidelay, thought the dd-3 is pretty basic.

Yeah, the DD-3 is basic, but I don't need anything fancy.

Well, I've just ordered a DD-6!! I found one really cheap on the internet and just decided to go for it. Should be home in the next couple of days.

If all you want is a basic delay look for a boss DD 2 on ebay. The have a lot more high cut in the delay and sounds more organic and analog then a DD 3 and has the same simple setup without all the knobs and whistles. I used to have a DD 2 and DD 3 right next to each other on my board, the DD 2 was the one that almost always got picked when it was time to add some delay. The sound is just better.

be sure to get a boss fs-5u at some point. for the boss dd's these 30 dollar tap tempos will really open up the possibilities.

you'll be happy with a dd-6, its a good delay, though I dont know if it takes external tap tempo; i think that was the dd-5; I imagine it does have the 'hold down 2 secs' tap input though. tap tempo is the greatest pedal idea ever, i have my dd-20 set up for tap tempo in the dm-2 mode mostly and i have a empress tap tremolo too; i don't kow how i coped without them! congrats on the dd-6 be sure to let us know how it works out!

i had to check, and you are correct jellybean. the dd-6 and dd-7 have the tap feature built in...saves you $30 to automatically get the best part of boss delays!

Yeah! thanks guys. I can't wait for it to come home.I have to say that the reverse function looks mighty cool.

listen to 'untitled' by interpol, that is a dd-6 in reverse mode. sounds ace.
