wiring a hot rails

i'm installing a hot rails on my mustang and i know the red and white wires get taped together...now all i have is a green wire and the ground wire..my single coil pup in it has a white wire on the left side of the switch and a black wire on the right side of the switch(this is looking at it as if you take the pickguard off and flip it over). where does the green and ground wire go on the switch? green where the white one was and ground where were the black one was?

ground goes where the black was. other hot goes where white was. read the instructions that come iwth it. it says something about havign to switch the wires around when using it with othe fender guitars. i think you switch black and green. read up to be sure

i wired it up and sounds great! just what i needed to get alittle more gain out of my stang..thanks

but i have a problem..when i screw the screws for the pickguard that are near the 2 switches all the way in, the sound cuts off and only the neck pup works..but when i unscrew it a little bit both pups work fine with no problem..anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it?

it just gets grounded to where ever your mustang is grounded. (prob around the bridge area.) The only wire that goes on the switch is the black

well i tried to mess with it so it would stop doing that and i took the guard off and cut the lead cause it was really long and re-wired it and now it dont make any sound but it didnt make any sound even before i rewired it..as soon as i lifted the guard off it stopped making sound..now i dont know wat the #### to do cuz i havent messed with any of the other wires...

the neck pup only works when the bridge pup is off..so idk wat it is.

look at the wires under the control plate. they could have gotten ripped out.

ive checked..the wire that hooks from the pot to the left side of the first switch came off but i soldered it back and the bridge pup still dont have any sound
