New (potential) JagStang/Jaguar (esq) project.

well... Dad had this body and said I could make something out of it if I wanted. It was made by someone Dad knows who gave it to him (for what reason I don't know 😛 ). I quite liked the shape so thought I could do something with it. It looks vaguely Jagstang/Jaguar like...

Anyway... Heres a pic of it as it stands. Any suggestions for colours, hardware, pickups etc. will be appreciated.

sand the hell out of it, put the pups you want into it.

make a guard, get a bridge and neck, call it a day.

very cool looking tho, almost mosrite/fender.

Hey Pete,

What scale are you going to make the neck? Will it be Gloss or Satin finish? And what headstock design?

I don't know enough about components to make any useful suggestions, but I would probably go for a HS pickup config, and keep the controls simple (none of the switches that Jags and Jazzy's have), but that's just me.

Also what bridge system will you be looking at? I'm curious 😀

I will suggest a colour scheme though: bright lemon yellow body, with a black pickguard. Make it look like a bumblebee

Haha thanks for the bumblebee idea 😆 but i was thinking sonic blue or surf green with matching headstock... But thats quite a way off yet.

For the bridge, I've been looking at a Jag/JM style tremolo, just cause they look cool 😛

Not entirely decided about the neck yet, but probably 24" scale. And most likely gloss finish. As for the headstock design, I don't know. It'd be nice to have a 70's style big Fender headstock, but I'll just see what we have enough wood for 😆

altho im not a huge fan of painted necks that copper color is cool looking!

I think that's one exception where the neck does look really good painted solid.

I can't find the front pic, but I think it has p90s in it, with an aluminum pickguard.
