Vox Hurricane Project

I am planning on doing a complete makeover on an old VoX Hurricane I picked up in poor condition...years ago...so condition is now worse than poor.

I mentioned this project briefly on guitar geek's forum, but those guys seem a bit snobby and i did not get anything valuable out of it....

So, fellow jag-stang posters....

Anyone ever worked on a Hurricane? I am curious about how much of a sanding,etc this one can take....a new bridge and new pups are definitely in order, at very least.

the look is about all it has to offer.

people complain about jag and jazz bridges...but i think they should spend an hour with the Hurricane and they would shut right up.

You plug mine in....instand squeal...bad squeal...i am a noise-pop lover and i can't bear to hear the shrill sounds this guitar unleashes. One time I plugged it in and flames shot out of the outlet and it shocked the hell out of me....that was the last time i tried anything with it. 😆 it basically put overdrive on the wrong part of my amp......the power supply.

all it needs is some stable electronics to not be life threatening...but while i am at it...i was thinking complete overhaul on the bridge/tail as well.

If you have nothing to lose with it, you might as well get radical.

Experimentation is the order of the day, I think...
