Of course you may have to upgrade in the future, if you have to play lollapalooza, you're not gonna take your 15 watt combo.

At the moment you're like 15, been playing 2 years, if i were you i'd look into one of those marshall valvestate models, they are more money than the 15 watt orange, but they are louder, and the distortion channels are monster gain.

Your aim isn't to buy an amp that'll last you your whole life, just something that'll last at least a few years while you get better and more practiced, then if you start gigging, time to save up for a head.

as long as its tube its an upgrade, and really if you were playing any size show you could use a 15 watt combo you just mic it and run it through the gargantuan PA systems, its not like you would go with a 100watt stack because honestly it would be loud but not nearly loud enough that the people wayy way in the back would hear you, people Mic everything so dont worry about wattage yet as long as its loud enough to be heard over the drums. Make sure its tube and your fine.

dont worry about lollapalooza. if you play lollapalooza companys will GIVE you amps. try to find at 15 watts+ tubes. thatll be loud enough to keep up with a drummer at a reasonably clean setting. tube is louder than solid state.

You've missed the point of what was said about the 30w amps never needing to be upgraded. It's not because it's 30 watts. It's because it's a kickass valve/ tube amp. If you've found a 15w amp for

This thread my be a bit old, but just though I would offer my opinion.

I played a few orange crush amps at a music store and really struggled to get the sound out of them that I wanted, which is basically a trebly, clear sound.

I ended up buiying a 10w Marshall MG10 which has suited me well, and was fairly cheap as well.

Yeah the Crush are terrible amps but they aren't true Oranges imo. Because they lack tubes and good speakers and the gorgeous reverb you get on a real Orange.
