i played one at bedroom volumes in triode mode and pentode mode. very clean and shimmery, but it wouldnt break up.

No, no, no, I'm not anti-ebay at all. It's just I've never used it (i.e. I don't have an account or anything). I probably would use it, it's just I'm quite happy buying my gear new from the likes of thomann.de and dv247.com as well as locally.

lots of people have been ripped off.

plus the fact that ebay make so much out of it with listing fees, final valuation fees, and they own paypal and take a cut of every transaction through that.

The guitarist from hell is for heroes used one with an orange 4x12, sounded HUGE. I guess make the cab cover up a bit of the bass that the terror supposedly lacks and get as big a cab as possible; saying that whenever I've tried one it seemed to have excellent bass response.

depends in what your looking for (tight bass, loose bass, pronounced mids, subdued mids, etc...)

The recent fee changes have been harsh. There have been small reductions in the cost of listing items, but large increases in the fees they take when your item sells. Paypal fees are high and ebay are pushing paypal as much as possible. They even attempted to make the Australian ebay 'paypal only' but the monopoly commission stopped them. Two of the worst changes are that sellers can no longer leave buyers negative feedback, and the funds only clear through paypal once the buyer gives positive feedback.

I'm not certain the details on the Australia story, but it is happening and there is quite a backlash over it. I can completely understand people being against using it and I fully expect there to be some serious competition to it by the end of the year. A year or two ago the cost of setting up a competing site was just too high, but with the amount of people boycotting ebay and the unrest with their policies, a more ethical site would get a lot of business if it could prove itself quickly.

Sellers can only leave positive as buyers would leave neg feedback and sellers would then leave neg in response so that system did not work.

the new system does work as if you have a problem with a buyer - i.e. Non payment - ebay will sort it out.

people don't like change! I personally have never had issues with ebay

You know what pisses me off about those EBAY pricks?

The new one they have is that if you are a seller, you HAVE to accept Paypal as a form of payment, and they can ban you for stating that you do not accept it.

What the f*ck is that about?

If i owned a shop, and the travisty came in and said "can i purchase this 14" black rubber c*ck with Paypal?"

I'd tell him to go and f*ck himself.
