Japanese Jaguar HH Special Edition

Hey guys,I've just put down a deposit on the Jag Special Edition HH and am waiting in anticipation.

Do any of you own one? (I'm assuming yes)

Thoughts on its differences to the 'normal' Jags?

Is it worth the money? pickups any good?

Does it sound and play as awesome as it looks?

Just discuss it basically I'm excited to own my first Jag 😛

I have previously owned a Jazzmaster (Which had to be returned because of its broken trem) and i heavily modded a Strat (Which was stolen from me)So I'm replacing it with this Jag.

Oh, they are made in Japan... I know that much, are they limited edition?

Yup. The black and chrome one, matching headstock.

I wanna add some red designs to it to make it a bit different.

They are a good guitar, I would like to see a photoshop of one with a red pickguard and controls...

You do know the HH doesn't have a trem though?

Yeah I am perfectly aware of it's lack of trem.

I don't use them, I made the Strat I had into a hardtail.

This guitar looks almost perfect for me.

I got a Jag hh but i sawpped out the pickups cause the stock ones were to muddy and i changed the guard to get rid of the chrome black pattern

oh and i love it

^ looks way better with a different guard and jazz bass knobs. i like it. i find the black/chrome stuff really dull. (:

I'm going to try change the black and chrome up a bit by adding some red designs.

yours does look really great modded a bit.

I have ended up replacing all the pickups on the guitars i had with duncans, i had hot & vintage rails in my strat. i'll give these ones a try though.

I can't try one out before i get it, i live in South Africa and they are only bringing 5 of these in at the end of september.

I'll just have to wait and see, but either way i'll still love it's shape and lines and the fact thats it's hardtail.

the pickups suck, it plays well, and the neck is amazing.

I bought my HH in March on a trip to New Orleans, superb neck as Tragictravisty says, I have changed the knobs to black bass ones and added a treble bleed cap on the volume pot ofthe rythmn bout. A good number of people change the pick ups and I guess from what you write you will change them. I like the neck pickup but not the bridge too trebly really for me so I may change it or just put up with it I can get most of the sounds I want out of the two positions for the neck pick up lead position is much brighter, but the two voicings give me what I need. I did try an american tortoiseshell guard, but it doesnt fit (hint) get a jap one. Any way lovely guitar to play great set up, neck really good, Enjoy it

the knobs are annoying. theyre chrome, and have this miniscule notch which you cant see. i dont use them that often but when i do its by ear.
