any opinions on these pickups? specifically the p-90s and paf style humbuckers?

I have a kent armstrong hot single in the neck spot of my Jagstang. I'm really happy with it, it was nicely priced, and it sounds good. I know that isn't the bucker you were looking at, but just as a feel for the quality of the products, I'd buy another one.

I have heard good things about Armstrong pickups but I know for a fact there are much better PAF Clones, however the prices for those are higher but so is the quality. What kind of pickups are you looking for? I talk to alot of pickup snobs so I could probably help you find someone good.

I have a Kent Armstrong PAF Plus in the bridge of my Mustang. It sounds really good! KA pickups are generally pretty high quality.

ive decided that i dont think im gonna get a p-90, cause im looking for shimmery clean sounds. lots of treble, without hurting the ears clean (like ALOT of pickups do.) right now im thinking about the dimarzio EJ pickups (loosely based on mimicking filtertrons). i guess an underwound paf type might do it.

by the way im also considering an alumitone (lace) which is a really unique pickup.... but i dont really know how it sounds sice there arent many sound clips out.

same here, KA hotrail in a jag bridge. i wasnt sure at first if it was the right decision for jag then i paired it with a cool rail and it totally works.

so in general KA's are a good pickup choice.

those look pretty cool too... but im not sure if they have enough treble. i guess i could always put a neck pup in the bridge.... but what is considered 'balanced' by most guitarists ears i usually consider muddy (clean anyway.)
