I would guess that phaeton's after specifics here. 😆

I'm afraid I can't help, I don't know much about his gear history. I understand he's very into MXR pedals though, if that's any good to you.

he rewound a paf and put it in the bridge of his strat with no tone controls. the fancy paint job adds allot of mids aswell.

well i know he plays kramers and used a flanger but i cant tell what kind of amp that is.

EVH is famous for the 'brown sound' which i think he originally got driving a Marshall Plexi.

He is quite sparing on distortion, that effect in the youtube clip is definitely Chorus. You could probably achieve that sound quite easy with a couple of Boss pedals and some open chords. Its a bit of a standard 80's rock ballad sound. Most Multi FX will have that sound as one of their presets.

I like EVH, he is a great player that changed rock guitar with his style. I really like the first two VH albums, the rest i just like the odd track.

This is my favourate, he uses a MXR Phase 90 in this..
