66' jazzmaster....deal or no deal ......

Wow i haven't posted here in a while..

The local guitar shop has a 66' sunburst jazzmaster with block and bindings for $3000 and the guy who owned it works there,

so i know the history is the true.

The guy is lefty and strung it up lefty(even thought the guitars right handed) so there is a drill hole on the wrong side for the strap, no trem bar and it has a buzz stop(yuck!) and no bridge cover, and mustang sattles.

But other than that, its all original and back to righty!

It Plays Amazing and Sounds Beautiful!!

the body looks like its been to hell and back! I think that adds character.

anyways i was wondering if this was a good deal $3000, i haven't really look too much into jazzy's

i don't like ebay because you can't play it before you buy it.

I have save up enough to buy it

any advice would be awesome.

if it were me i woudnt buy it. i think 3k for a '66 is a bit much

but maybe binding and such is hella rare on jazzies, i dunno.

lol I registered under that name almost two years ago, my musical taste has changed for the BETTER. Plus i couldn't grow a mustache two years when i was 16. Heck I can't grow a Mustache now.

Well, here in LA, you can't touch a 60's Jazzmaster for less than $3k...so, it's really all up to you. The good news is, these guitar values keeping climbing at an alarming rate. If you can get it for $2500, even though, personally, I think that's a touch too much, you can be happy in the knowledge knowing that your guitar's value will increase. Who knows...maybe 10 years from now, they'll probably be fetching $7500...

It's all up to you...

I've got the money, and original jazzmaster don't pop up too often in Virginia Beach, and who knows in two years i may not have enough.

So i may just go ahead and get it, because i'd rather pay more and be able to play it, rather than pay less not being able to play it and i could get ripped off on ebay.

if it helps, everyone here laughed at me for paying $1620 for my mustang...that was 6 months ago...and now, I could easily get anywhere from $1800-$2200 for it on ebay. Who's laughing now?

But, then again, my mustang is 100% original and isn't beat up at all.

well i went ahead an got it for 2500 i'll post pictures, it belonged to so noise band in the 80's i can't remember their name something like na ha or something..... anywho i'll post pictures asap
