The guy makes multiscale guitars, as in you could have one scale length for the bass strings and one for the treble strings, that way you can have more or less tension on either side, cool idea.
I'd love to try them, but i bet they aren't cheap, he reckons he has a 2+ year waiting list!
I've not heard of Ormsby, but I don't keep my ear to the ground that much.
The main luthiers I know in Melbourne are Mace's, Manny's, and another whose name escapes me, but who I am pretty sure is not Ormsby. My 51 is getting modded at Mace's at the moment, and for the time they are taking I hope it's a good job.
I'm still in my learning stages, and I do want to find good reliable techs, because I barely trust myself to change strings 😀
I might find out where Ormsby's is and go take a look...
