Pickguards...again

So, I just realized that pickguards from http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/pick ... angimp.htm do not fit a CIJ 65 Reissue. So, my question is: what will fit then?

the 69 reissue? just a guess, and I don't see how they would be different...

How does a CIJ Jaguar Pickguard not fit a MIJ Jaguar? and vise versa. Thats what stumps me... I need a Brown tort pickguard for a MIJ Jag, and cant find one, and a CIJ guard will not fit. Ive tried and guitar parts resource confirmed that they do not fit. wtf

im havin the same problem, none of the guards i buy for my 65 RI fit either..im just wastin money

trace your 65ri guard, and send it to wd music, theyll hook you up

here are the pics of my stang with the guard from guitarpartsresource and the routing i did to make it fit and i routed the guard and the body for a full size humbucker...

the routing isnt pretty i know but it works...

I did a very similar thing to my Mustang, but I used a Jagstang scratchplate. It works just as well, with very little work being needed to make it fit, and not having to deface the original scratchplate:

In the second one you can see where the jagstang guard doesn't quite line up with the bottom horn, but I like the way it is.

If you google and look for a while 🙄 you may come across "Pickguard Heaven" by none other than Chandler Guitars... sound familiar? probably to readers of KurtsEquipment.com. A bit pricey for the cool materials but I'm sure is worth it (I've got two on the way 😁 for a 69 CIJ RI Mustang)

is there alot of routing to do on the pickguard? like so it will fit a mustang? and are the screw holes in the right place and everything?

i bought one from there and found out they dont fit ☹ should be here soon

not too much to be done to it. just around the neck and the left edge of the guard near the bridge plate. the screw holes fit fine for mine. hopefully it fits man. just look at my pics i posted on everything that might need routing.

i let my dad try and route it..he ####ed it up..but it works for me. i did the routing near the bridge plate, cant even tell i did anything to it
