+1 on the strings jumping around. i played an american jag and the low E kept on shifting saddles. although i problably would have used a nailfile on its ass if i owned it

I use Dean Markley Blue Steel Mediums 11-52 on all my guitars. Tried some flat wound strings once, WAY too flat sounding.

Originally started with 9's-- quickly switched to 10's, but after hearing the sweet chunkier tone of 11's I've never looked back.

It does work, it was designed in 1962 for surf players using heavy gauge strings not alt rockers using 10's. If you want to do that it needs attention. This is the whole point behind the improved MIM series, they have tweaked them to suit modern playing demands.

I usually switch out the Jag/Jazz bridges for Mustang bridges, but the high E string on my latest guitar is so off-center I'm debating installing the old slotted bridge.
