Jagstangs have TWO blue colours

Hi all, I have read many places that there are no significant differences between original issue JagStangs (right) and second issue (left). So, was very surprised to see that my original 1995 Jag is a far more green shade of blue than a second issue. I've attached a photo which definitely does not do justice to the colour difference.

Is the 1995 a seafoam green then? I did take the neck off the '95 and the paint which has not seen light / smoke etc is still the same greenish blue.

Also, notice the difference in pickgaurds. The 95 is far more opaque.

This is'nt uncommon. But they are still both Sonic Blue.

Not quite. It's cool that they are different. I like that. What's the point of having two guitars exactly the same, when you could have one in a VEEEERRRRY slightly different colour? 😛

I dunno, I think those colours look waaaay different. For starters, one is blue, the other is almost green.

How could they be called the same colour?

I don't think they've been around long enough to age that much. Mine is original and it still looks pretty blue. Not too blue, not that green either.

I've seen newer ones that look green too. i heard it has to do with cigarette smoke. non smoker owners guitars stay blue longer i guess. idk thats what i heard.

They're the same thing melvin. Its just a word change, nothing more significant.

This subject has been discussed here and elsewhere many times, they are both sonic blue. If i remember rightly someone once emailed Fender to close the debate.

Does the same apply to guitars made in China, or Indonesia?

Maybe there is no difference, and it's just like back in the days of the Duo-Sonic II. Sometimes the II was used, sometimes not.

Same spec dude, there will be minor differences even within the same factory. i've owned 4 jag-stangs and none of them were identical.

they took the contract and did it in the same plant
