Well the first question is, why a DeVille??? If you look at my sig, you will see that I was once the not-so-proud owner of a DeVille strat copy.
However, a couple of months ago, I was curious about the origin of the guitar and did some looking around. I found nothing. In fact, there isn't even a review section for DeVille guitars on Harmony Central and they have LOTS (hundreds) of brands listed.
So, what does this mean?
First of all, what country are you in?
Because, the lack of any evidence of the existence of the company leads me to believe that "DeVille" guitars may well be rebranded seconds from other companies that make budget guitars (Squier, J&D, Cort, so on).
Another thing about DeVille's is that they made a staggering array of guitars, everything from copies of strats, to Gibsons, Rickenbackers, Danelectro, semi-hollow's, solidbody's, acoustics, you name it. It seems odd that a company making guitars on such a low profile could make such a vast array of instruments.
Scouring the internet turns up nothing by more questions.
It is a puzzle, and I consider it to be an interesting puzzle, but I have no answer at all, only speculation...
edit: by the way, Joe, welcome to the forum 😁
