Advice on a '66 Mustang

I'm going to check out a '66 mustang next week that's been refinished and I was just thought I'd see if anyone could chime in on things to keep an eye peeled out for.....

Apparently it will need some work, frets could use some attention, possibly new nut, bridge pickup doesn't work.

I haven't seen it yet, but it's supposed to have slab board and original case and refinished in a gold/chartreuse'esqe paint job.

Not sure if it's overpriced either, espc. with all the potential work that would need to be put into it.

Any advice?

LOSTVENTURE

1. The pickup problem is most likely a switch problem. Plan on replacing both switches just to save yourself the time later down the road. Stew-Mack sells direct replacement parts.

2. Clean the bridge pieces of rust, dirt, etc. This was always another place that usually was not kept up.

3. Be sure that the neck is straight. On any guitar of this age if the neck hasn't been maintained properly, there could be problems.

Otherwise, enjoy you new toy.
