Question about tunematic on my jag

Hi all, im a newbie and dont know to much about the technical guitar stuff so be kind!

Ok basically i got fed up beyond beleif with my jag bridge so got a tuneamatic for it (standard type). I found on the net a guide of how to fit it and it said to wrap electrical tape around the posts so that it only just fits into the holes where the bridge goes.

Only concern i have is that the posts with the new bridge dont touch the bottom of the holes.

i dont know for sure but only assume this isnt a good thing??

Any help or advice would be great

Actually, if the posts are snug in the holes, then it's really not much of a problem at all.

Quite a few people have TOMs on their Jags, so wait around and they will tell you how they fitted theirs.

as long as its snug and there are no grounding issues your fine

Yeah, the grounding is the important thing. If you need to tape the posts make sure there is still some metal contact, that may mean only taping up one side of each post.

The other thing to look out for is the guitars action. TOM bridges even at their lowest point sit higher than a Jag bridge, so you may need to shim the neck by placing a small piece of card in the neck pocket. Keep it thin, its amazing how dramatic a change a 2mm piece of card does.
