Jazzmaster pickups on a jaguar

I know it's been done before but how does it sound is it hard to do and is it a good idea.

I really like the sound of jazzmasters and those pickups look so cool

iam sorry dude iam just messing, yes its been done I HAVE DONE IT! 😆 to be honest the only reason i did was because my jap jag had been through loads of pickup combos and i had never been happy and the jag never got played witch was a shame really so after refinnishing it i got the idea in my head to try some jazzmaster pickups in, and the 'jazzuar' was born its now a guitar that gets played. its still a very trebly guitar but it sounds pretty nice to my ears its wired like a jazzmaster but with the jag thin switch still installed and i wired a varitone in too just for ####s and giggles.

I don't really get it. Sell the jaguar, buy a jazzmaster. These things cost the same and it'll save you a bunch of work.

lol,damn you and youre joking , actually I dont want a jazzmaster I like the short scale and tons of chrome of the jaguar and I thought that a good set of jazzmaster pickups would be better than jap jaguar pickups.

actually does the jazzuar need special wiring changing of resistors etc or is it just a few minutes with a saw and a straight swap

hells no! it was a bitch! i took everthing out to refinnish it so had to wire it up again and i installed a 3 way toggle switch to use instead of the slider switches.

cutting the guard was hard too, you need the right tools or it will look a mess.

anyway here is how it sounds

the only guitar on there is the jazzuar and its all the neck pickup and there is no effects just guitar and amp.

so ok not good if you need a complete rewiring ,but since I am not going to refinish mine as I am happy with ocean turquoise then the main problem will be the pickguard.

I am happy with the regular jaguar controls so they will bei staying too.

well then you trace were the old jag pickup wires go, sweat the solder off then solder the jazzmaster pickup wires in the jags place done.

but the cutting of the guard and body needs to been done carefully with a router.

its SEYMOUR DUNCAN ANTIQUITY II in the neck and a normal seymour duncan jazzmaster pickup in the bridge
