Getting a Mustang Bridge in Europe (except eBay)

I just ordered my CIJ Sunburst Jaguar from Thomann.de which is arriving in 4-6 days. (F**K I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!!!)

and since i know i'm going to replace the bridge anyways, i thought i might as well start looking for the sources now. so.. any ideas?

Oh, and I live in Estonia. One of the Baltic states, below Finland. In eBay the nearest source is UK, but they're damn expensive there. Still tho, shipping from US might become as expensive. And there's always a risk that something may happen during the shipping.

Is it even worth thinking of? Should I get a Schaller STM or sth instead?

The stock bridge will be fine if you set it up right. There are videos on youtube (one of which is mine) and plenty of literature on how to do this. It will take you a few hours.

BUT! If you insist on a Mustang bridge i buy my parts from http://www.guitarpartsresource.com

They are fast! Great prices and you wont have any problems.

Don't know how to explain this without the post getting deleted...

But I have purchased several items from GuitarPartsResource... The US$ to UK Sterling was very much in my favour when I bought them. All items have arrived within a week or so by normal delivery. I STRONGLY suggest that you do not buy large items or more than 3 or 4 small items in one shipping from them, as with small packages they can be a bit 'liberal' with the customs description (all packages shipped to the UK from the US, need a customs decleration)

Do however, always budget for import duty, which I believe is around 20% of the Sterling value. IF your parcel is impounded by Customs, it will not be posted on until all Import Duty has been paid.

If you're worried about shipping and stuff then have a good go at setting up your stock bridge.

However, I can't recommend the Mustang bridge enough. It takes a lot of grief out of the equation. The saddle heights are always where they should be you can't get the string slippage. I doubt I'd go back to the stock bridge on this Jag now cos it's so near perfect to play on.

My mustang bridge was like 20 quid from guitarpartsresource so you've not got a lot to worry about if you lose it. AND I didn't get custom charges in a parcel that contained the bridge, new pup and p/guard so it really is worth gambling on.

The point I was trying to make, which I think George has just emphasised... Is that GPR are a bit 'liberal' with their customs declaration forms, when shipping to the UK, to the buyers benefit...

yes, you did fail 😆 . my original question was why would it get deleted? i guess you are thinking because your saying that GPR is taking slight advantage of the law, but i think it being deleted would be uncool. plus, AL rarely deletes stuff.

btw does AL post here under a different name? how does he know when to close/reply to stuff?

Just to point out, that I bought Mustang Saddles only (not the bridge). They do fit straight onto a Jaguar bridge but you do have to raise the bridge height quite a lot...
