MIM Jaguar, Mustang or Jazzmaster @ $399?

I apologize in advance for what will probably sound, to the initiated, as an uninformed question, but I wonder why Fender doesn't offer a MIM Jaguar, Mustang or Jazzmaster, or any combination thereof, at the $399 price point that dealers sell the standard MIM Tele's and Strat's at? I, for one, would leap at the opportunity to purchase a new Jaguar at this price, but am somewhat hesitant at the $699 entry point for the Jaguar HH Special Edition. 😕

Perhaps, but I find it hard to believe that there's no demand for, say, a MIM Jaguar @ $399. From what I understand, the Strat's & Tele's at that price point sell quite well, no?

i think the problem is, that strat- and tele-parts are being produced in vast quantities, and you can be certain that they will sell in vast quantities. then, you can optimize your workflow for these two types. that

they make mim jags and jazzys, but theyre 830. they have better features than the standard strats/teles, but not 430 dollars worth. (usd) i dont know how they justify it.

there is 9 feet of wire in a jaguar, and comparble to that is the jazzmaster.

the telecaster. i could pull it off with 11 inches.

more solder joints more metal bits, more screws, more crap.

not to mention the necks are tinted and the normal strats and teles are not tinted.

its all the lil stuff that adds up.

would i rather have 2 mim teles, or 1 mim jaguar.

i would go with the jaguar.

very good point, it takes a while to put together a jag. their solution with japanese jag was just to avoid grounding it (who needs it anyway). setups are harder for jags too.
