ProCo Rat2 vs MXR Distortion III

I'm going for a new distortion pedal tomorrow morning, it'll either be a Rat or MXR Distortion III. It's going to be replacing my russian Big Muff (which out due to busted sustain pot and wiring that's about to go out) I loved it, but it's mid and high responce wasn't quite try for me.

So, has anyone, or does anyone, have Rat or MXR Distortion III?

Opinions?

(I know i'll get "Just try 'em out", but I want your opinions, because I value your opinons 😁 )

I dig the Rat, they sound good. Never tried the MXR, so I can't comment on it...

I got the Rat, the MXR walked out the door 1minute before i walked in, maybe a good thing! That rath is pretty good. I don't know, but it may be better, yes better, than the muff. I still need to get another Russian muff though, i miss it. Which i may be getting one alon with a 4x12 crate cab for $120.

I think I may, atleast the cab anyway. They guy got it for free and doesnt really play guitar. I dont know how great Crate cabs are, but ay', a deals a deal. 😎

itll most definitely need new speakers, but the construction might not be too bad (how bad can you #### up a box anyway?)

i like the rat better. i've played them both, and i have the rat. something about the mxr just seemed a little off to me. it's kind of just like mxr's slightly better version of the ds-1

Yeah, i played my Classic 30 through it today, wasnt toooo bad actually. One speakers blown i'm sure. I don't know, i'll offer like 80 for the cab.
