did you look at the wiring for the pickups. re finishing is up to too, if you wanna refinish it, do it. if you want to refinish you need to strip the old finsish, which could be hard cuz of the poly, and start to refinish. i recommend reranch for your paint supplies.

Agreed. But if the pickups are broked'd replacements will mean less money in a resale so i suppose a refin is then in order if its what you want to do. Try and keep it stock though, even if it means getting the pickups rewound.

Selling will never be an option so I dont care what needs to be done. I may not refinish now since the cracks arent to bad but I also doubt that if sold anyone would be able to tell if a refinish or new pickups were ever done to it there by lowering the value. I finnaly pluged the guitar into an amp and found out that the Bridge pick-up is fine but the neck will need to be replaced with the Tone pot (and while im at ill be changing the Volume pot to). Ill post some pics in a few days but the cracks wont ever show in the pics 😕 and the pups have turned to such a sweet yellow from the heat looks very vintage like. 😀

Also to anyone who bought or made a Warmoth Jag how did it come out and what was the total price once finnished since i now think im gonna try to build one.

Well, if you're gonna go to the trouble of replacing the pots, I highly suggest 500k CTS pots. As for the Warmoth Jaguar, just know that once you've purchased the body, neck, pg, hardware, pups and wiring, you'll have already spent more than if you'd of just bought a CIJ Jaguar.

like aug said,you might want to think about raising pot value for treble and volume. also, ive heard wd-40 can bring scratchy pots back to life

Well the Pot broke off with the nob still attached so WD-40 wont work 😆

It really depends on the woods and any other details that you add to it as well as if you have to hire a luthier to assemble the parts for you or not that will determine if a project like that will go over $1000.
