Definately. Just because you know all of it, it doesnt mean you have to always use it. I usually have a basic power chord riff, but a really blues solo. And othertimes quiet the opposite.
One of the best things I ever did when I got guitar lessons was go through different playing including classical, blues, jazz, funk, metal, rock n roll, surf and even "noise" (this book we used had a whole chapter on detuning and making "noise" ala Sonic Youth, was fun)
