If Billy Hyde don't have something in stock at the store, they ship it in from thier warehouse in Sydney. Or maybe even directly from Fender, who are up in Sydney too.
As such I didn't get to play the Fender. As for buying one, there was no way. In the end, I didn't even have the money to buy the Squier.
The Squier wasn't so great. The sound had no real personality. Doesn't help that that guitar had been in storage for at least a year and a half. The strings were awful, and the fretboard was very dry and dull-looking. A hard guitar to physically play, but would have been better after new strings and an oiling of the fretboard.
I'm not hugely heartbroken that I didn't get the guitar. At the time the plan was to sell my Jagmaster to fund the Cyclone. I'm happier with the Jagmaster 😀
