That, mon ami, is an EXCELLENT idea.
It might require some springs to hold it in place under the pickguard, but that is fine.
One dilemma I face (which need to be resolved VERY soon) is whether I should get the black or cream coloured rings. The pickups themselves are aged (but of course these covers are easily changed). I would probably then get a black knob package (snicker) and swap everything.
Sound is always my main priority, but I still don't want the thing looking too disjointed. As it stands at the moment, it will have black pickup rings, aged cream pickups, and white knobs.
I think in the long run, all will be black. Or might leave the pups as they are. I really dunno 😀
