harrison if you have your tailpiece stock its strings through the holes and then wrapped under the tailpiece then up over the bridge
tragictravisty i dont think theres a law or anything, and i dont own one, but basic logic would conclude that under = sustain, less chance of buzz, over = more harmonic overtones

harrison the thing about stringing it over is that unless your bridge was set very very high, the strings dont even touch it. they just float way above the fretboard, which is why i said "over = slide guitar".

Aug I forget who did it, but someone, AGES AGO posted about locking down the tremolo with nuts and washers, flipped the trem bar around and simply pushed the strings straight through, without going over or under. As for going over the tremolo, that's just retarded. 😆 The strings would end sitting a FULL 1/4" above the bridge!
