hi there, a newbie here to the wonderful world of forums.....
Anyway, I was hoping to get some sort of a view here on my situation.
I recently cruised through Tokyo (on work) and made the mistake of walking in on a music store.....as i soon walked out with a J-Craft JGS model in GRB. For those who are not familiar with this model cruise on through to the following site..

Anyway, as luck should have it, they were going cheap so i couldnt resist.
So far so good till a mate of mine was interested to run a check on the serial posted behind the neck... "T015388".... according the official Fender registry, this number is associated with a pre-CBS model....which I thought was strange??? To add to the confusion, its also apparently an American made unit.....
So, given that this model is only available in Japan, has "CIJ" printed on the back , what gives????
Is there anyway one is able to verify if the unit is indeed legitimate.....??
Im feeling rather uncomfortable now.....
Any views would be much appreciated.
