Build quality is absolutely stunning. Straight neck, amazing player, absolutely no issues. The pickups were alright in my opinion, very traditional as far as what you'd expect from what is in essence a Jaguar anyway, but I opted to find some old Dimarzios to replace them just because I had a specific tone I was looking for, and found.
Where'd you get a GRB JGS-86 anyway? Those are hard to come by. I found mine on eBay for $500 about three or four years ago.
I got mine in Japan whilst breezing through on a short trip. You're right about being hard to come by....I first spotted t about a year ago on another trip but hesitated to buy ...i gave in this second time round....Was close to getting the GMB but it was out of stock...there's fate for you!!
Im satisfied overall, but i feel it still lacks a certain ooomph...and i figured a change in PU 's would be the answer....follwed closely by perhaps a change in machine heads and I would say my JGS will shine! I;ve already change the PG to tortise white and I must say, its a winner against the GRB finish.
the rouble is Im not much of a technical person so Im now looking for the easiest solution to alternative PU's... i.e. just a drop right in job as opposed to me having to apply any major changes to the construction.
What would you recomend.?
