WHAT SHOULD I DO?

My birthday is coming up, and I am getting a new guitar, here are my two options...

Now, they're both nice, but I want something with an SC in bridge and a tremolo/ vibrato...

Vibrato I'd use

BTW: I can install the vibrola myself, in the case of the Duo-Sonic. How much would a custom 3 ply tortoise-shell pickguard routed for a single coil in bridge and a humbucker in neck run in the case of the Jagmaster?

Yeah, but the strat trem probably stays in tune better than the Vibrola...

I only hate the switching and the controls... I wish it was on/off on/off on/off for each pickup then either vol/tone for each or 3 vol and a tone...

Those two things are important to me... And quite honestly, I'd rather a floating vibrato than a vibrola. That costs mucho denero... SPeaking of which, how would I rout the body for it?

So far, I'm still firm on just getting the JM and modding it with a SC in bridge position...

Instead of adding a single-coil couldn't you just carve a hole for another switch and make it a coil tap? I think it would be cosmetically better and make it a great guitar by being versatile.

you could even do it with one of those kurt conain jaguar control plates, then you could have a three way toggle and a jag switch for bucker/ single

Why not put in a push/pull pot so you don't need to add another hole in the pickguard--much simpler. I have my Les Paul wired for each humbucker to be series/parallel with push/pull puts--and it works great. (Series is how humbuckers normally work & parallel makes it like 2 single coils next to each other--I like that sound better than coil splitting. But wiring it for coil splitting could be cool. Or if you don't mind another hole try a mini 3 way switch where you can get humbucker, coil split & series/parallel.)

Just some ideas.
