How hard would it be to make a new pickguard?

Right now I am dissatisfied with the sound from my harmony guitar. Since the electronics are top mount, I shouldn't have a problem with those. Would cutting the pickguard be hard? Are you able to use the original pickguard as an easier way of making the shape the same? And what tools are required to cut and route a pickguard?

Whether the electronics are topmount or not wouldn't make them any better or worse than they really are and the shape of the pickguard wouldn't have any affect on the sound. My advice is to change the pickups.

With the electronics being mounted to the pickguard with full body routes makes it easier to put them in place and solder them. Also in order to change the pickups I can't on this pickguard, the pickups are mounted to chrome plates that use too small of screws and the distance from the appropiate sized screw is too far. What I plan to do is change the pickups.

Making a pg is super easy with the right tools, and a pain in the ass without them. You can make a "one-off" pg, using your old one as a template of sorts, as you can mark/score the shape onto the pg material and cut away. If you are wanting red tort, PM me, as it is far more fragile than any other pg material. As for tools, here's what is best:
