help please with killswitch

ive installed a killswitch (2-way toggle switch) to my guitar (a hohner strat copy), and its a bit... ####ed, it keeps on buzzing real loud whenever its turned "off". basically, i cut the ground wire and joined each part up with a 2nd wire leading to the switch. its wired all correctly in that way, but possibly i cut the wrong wire? i just want to know if ive made any errors anywhere and thats whats causing the problem

Check your wiring. Could be a dodgy ground connection...

wait, so does your killswitch lift the ground?... you should run a wire to ground which connects the output to ground when its 'killed', and not touch the ground wire to the jack.... or am i misunderstanding?

I've just put a button killswitch on my SG, just soldered a wire to either terminal on the button and then soldered the ends to either terminal on the jack socket. Try retracing your steps with what you disconnected, and then re-do it that way.

yeah, ok. ive done it that way now, thanks. it doesnt do any buzzing now, so it works perfect
