Pigtronix has been my favorite effects company for a while now. I own both the EP-1 phaser and Echolution. I met the owner Dave Koltai at the Dallas Guitar Show last March, and he came off as a little arrogant at first, but after a few minutes of talking with him he turned out to be a really nice guy! Anyways I was checking out their booth because I was interested in the Echolution at the time (their multi-tap analog/digital delay pedal), and he looks at me and says, "Well hey why don't you buy the echolution?" And I said, "Cause I don't have $550 to spend right now," Then he says, "Well how much money do you have?" So I said, "$250" So he's like, "Well here, take this one that we've been using the last three days as a demo, there's nothing wrong with it, we've just been using it the last few days."
So he sold me the single coolest delay pedal ever for just $250, instantly making them my favorite effects company!
While I was there he was demoing this huge pedal with a whole bunch of funny switches on it that said "Mothership" on it. It was making these weird Moog synthesiser sounds, crazy octave and ring modulated noises, and some nice swelling keyboard pad sounds. He looked over at me and said, "Hey do you know about MIDI?" "Yeah," I said. "Well don't tell anyone cause I don't know if I want to do this or not yet," so he takes the Mothership off the board and shows me a MIDI In and Thru on the side of the pedal. So you could use this with a MIDI controller (Keyboard) or in conjunction with daisy chain of other synths. Really cool idea, but unfortunately it looks like they didn't keep it on the final version.
