Makungo Hey guys,Question on pickups:I am thinking about putting Seymour Duncan pickups on my Jaguar (CIJ) and I was wondering if there is much point in mixing and matching an SJAG-3 (Quarter Pound) on the neck and an SJAG-1 (Vintage) on the bridge.Any opinions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
Makungo Hey fran thanks for the replyI see what you mean but I normally play on individual pickups when i'm playing, and I LOVE the thick grungey sound of the neck pickup and the sparkle of the bridge
Fran It may work then if thats what sounds your after. You could always lower the height of the QP to balance the sound better. The QP still has sparkle but its hotter and copes better with gain than the others, less noise.
Makungo Cheers mate, having heard what you think about QP's i think i'll just go with two of them. What pickups do you have in your Jag mate, stock USA?
Purplehaze19x I have a QP in the bridge and a Antiqity 2 in the neck on my J. Mascis Jazzmaster and LOVE the sound i get with both pickups on together. Now im not sure if these pickups are the same as Jaguar Duncans sound wise, but i'd try it out. I did at one point have a QP in the neck position on the same guitar and i did not like the sound. Just my 2 cents. 😁
