question to the luthiers

As we are all well aware, the Jag-Stang's paint job isn't exactly durable. I got mine in '04 and play it daily and have noticed that I'm starting to get a bit of wear in some parts going down to the wood (not hard considering it seems less than a millimeter thick...). What I would like to know is if there is any sort of coating or something that I can spread over the guitar to help preserve it's original finish. I don't ever plan to sell it and will get it repainted when the finish gets too worn for my taste. If I can help to delay the inevitable in order to save money in the near future, I would be appreciative of any advise you can offer.

Yacht varnish applied with a gun. It will leave a glossy appearance but it is very durable as you would imagine.

Why would a dog attack a Jag-Stang? Were you playing something horrible?

Yeah. I can see it there if you were storing it there when you weren't playing it, but no case?? Not even a gig bag??? What gives??

Also, are you SURE your finish is 1/2 a cm thick??? If so, you have the absolutely thickest finish ever on a stock JS!!!

Pics?? I have got to see this for myself. If true, I'm gonna have to track down a JS from the same year and factory. Jag-Stangs have been produced in at least 3 factories: FujiGen Gakki (made in Japan), T?kai (Crafted in Japan), and Dyna Gakki (also CIJ).

FujiGen Gakki is my favorite... They produced the SWEET Teiscos (and other 20 dollar Japanese guitars from the 60s) and the MIJ Epiphones.

High-quality stuff, no doubt 😁 .

THREE???!!! Now you've done it. You have to post pics so that it can be made into a sidenote on this site as part of the history of the instrument. Is there ANYONE ELSE on here w/ the same routings to confirm this??
