This is my first post to this forum. I figured that since I just got my '74 Mustang today, I am now worthy to post.
I tried a bunch of Mustangs recently, and this walnut-finished one was in good condition, but more importantly, it wasn't noisy when switching pickups and the toggles were nice and solid. It's an excellent-sounding guitar, indeed.

I'm still not sure whether or not this is from 1974. When I took the neck off, I saw what looked to be the number "71" written in marker.
Does this mean it's from 1971?
And the butt of the neck didn't have anything on it. But the bottom of it had stamped: "D. TORRES."

Then, I took off the pickguard to inspect the pickups. The bridge pickup had the following numbers at the bottom of it: "141175". See photo:
And here's the neck pickup read: "180975". See photo:
Do these pickups indicate that this guitar is from 1975?
Let me know what you think! And you can see more pics here: http://pruff.com/74mustang/
Regardless of the year it's from, this is a great friggin' guitar and I feel lucky to have found it.
Cheers,
