Squier 51 pickup selector

Does anyone know where I could get a squier 51 pickup selector? The kind the looks like a standard pot? I'm thinking that this is the kind I want to use on my duo project sense I'm not putting in a tone pot.

Yeah I thought about a push pull but I want something more like the 51 cause I'm not planning a tone nob on this guitar so I'll only have one pot so a push pull couldn't do what I need.

I couldn't find any push pulls with a low enough profile to fit anyway. Thats how I ended up with the jagplate.

Here's a 5-way that might work (might still be too deep), the 6 way looks WAY too deep for the narrow duo body.

Here's an ebay auction for the 3-way switch, like what is in the `51. But it looks like you can only get them in lots of 10, but they're hella cheap and I doubt you'd have any problem unloading them here. Hell, I'd want 1 or two maybe.

And post in the trade section asking to buy a 51 rotary switch. Alot of those guys put Strat 5-ways into their rigs, so I'm sure there's a number of available switches over there.

To keep it simple... I would think any retail store that sells electronic components would have 3-way rotary switches in stock. It's a very common component.

this. an spdt on/on/on would do just fine. That said, an sp3t on/on/on wouldnt. (at least not for conventional switching. however, you can do neck/bridge/bridge split w/ an sp3t...)

So could I get on of those at a radio shack (only elec store in town)??? & what exactly would I ask for?

I would assume ANY electrical component store would have them in stock. Just ask for a 3-way rotary switch. It will cost you about $1.

no, as i said, not all 3-way rotary switches will work (assuming the middle position uses both pickups)

Yeah I just want neck/neck&bridge/bridge type setup just like the 51. I played one & loved the selector. As I was trying to figure this guitar out I knew I didn't really want a tone nob so I thought the 51 style selector would work/look great.

So I need a "spdt"? I'll check at radioshack & see if they have them. Thanks

yea, exactly. although an sp3t (thats single pole triple throw) will give you neck/neck&bridge (series)/bridge if you dont mind that - but keep in mind its a very different sound.
