I've owned dozens of EHX pedals and a few problems have always been reoccurring among many of them. One, the footswitches often poop out and need replaced after sometimes minimal use, two, the input/output jacks are often very weak and break quite easily if a cable isn't pulled out with caution, three, on more than one occasion (memory man, electric mistress, and small stone) the internal circuitry itself was defective from the factory.
So, even though it probably is related to the power supply, don't rule out other possible culprits. EHX pedals sound great but are cheaply made, I've just always cut my losses and bought a different pedal or sent my pedals to Howard Davis to fix and modify so that the same problems don't recur.
