BanditGuitarist1: There can be a big difference between Japanese and American, Rick would know them all but pickups, electronics, chrome vs nickel plated hardware as well as finish quality all come into play, with Americans winning out on the Japanese in those areas.
Also not everyone likes humbuckers or high output pickups, nor does everyone like the TOM, personally I dont. The only way I could see the TOM being of any use on a Jag is if it had the correct radius and roller saddles (so trem could be operated without snapping strings)
Another bonus of American jags is the extras they come with. Most Jap Jags come as is, while Am Jags come with a case, lead, strap and many other fender goodies. Really if you work it out, there isnt a huge price difference between the two when you take out the AV Jag's extras. But there is a noticable jump in quality.
