Is anyone into these? I made a really good one today, I'm please with it. I call it "STDs" based on a sample I used twice. I also sampled a bunch of shoegazer music... And Glassjaw, and Dinosaur Jr...

Yeah when I was taking a MIDI and Sequencing class at school I really got into sampling and making long sound sequences. But unfortunately I don't have any of this stuff at home so I don't get to mess around with it as much. I liked borrowing from old 1930s and 40s recordings, and then transposing what I sampled so that it wasn't as recognizable.

What programs are you using? At school I used Reason, Fruity Loops, and then Pro tools to record the MIDI.

haha that's awesome! I wanna start doing more stuff with old tape machines, all I know about is digital ####e, I guess it's good to know, but I wanna know about the old stuff too.

I've been doing the same exact thing. I like taping religous access and panning it left, while having deadly screams panned right.... nifty. I love that oddball stuff.

So very glad to see others doing the same. I'll post a few if i ever complete the stufffff

I like taking samples of shoegazer music, layering it with synthesizers and churchbells, and then cutting in and out with guitar, bass, drum, and Sam Kinison clips, among other things. My 4-track just recently puttered out on me, so I'm left with a Sony handheld Casette-Corder 😐 .
