Pick up suggestion. (Frusciante)

Little background:

I've been a drummer more than any instrument my entire life. Forced to play the piano in my childhood (which i'm also grateful to my dad) and has been playing acoustic guitar for a good 10+ years. I didn't get an electric guitar til recently, the past 3 years or so. A tele MIM i bought from a good friend of mine and sadly, never really took time to understand guitar specs, parts... the whole shebang (learning stomps, amps, cabs etc. took so much of my time as well lol.)

John Frusciante's playing has been my driving force in electric guitars. I never knew he had a jag not until i stumbled upon in it one of our forums. That being said... Are there any suggestions to what pickups would be good for that kind of play? I came across somethin about the Antuiquitiy I or II, Checked out SD's website even. What kind of setup might be really good for what i'm striving for? I'm basing it alongside Frusciante's style of play FOR NOW. And eventually, i'm sure i'll discover my own sound and character. Patience is SUCH a virtue... Cheers.

Fruciante has an obcession with vintage gear so the pickups are proably either stock or antiquities so i think antiquities are your best bet

to be honest though he plays strats most of the time so jag pickups might not get the sound that you want

yep. I only found out through the forums here that he did actually play a jag or a jazzmaster with Under the Bridge... but besides that, all i've seen him use are 2 of his strats, his 2 teles and a Gretsch Hollow body... thanks for the insight though!
