Mustang Tremolo Bar

This question has probably already been answered but why does the Tremelo bar kill a note when used, meaning when I'm playing with distortion and get some sustain and feedback going and begin to use the whammy bar the sustain/feedback dies?

Also Is their anyway to prevent this?

stop using the whammy bar and use a whammy pedal instead.

if you're going "down" in pitch, then i think pretty much any trem will loose some sustain. because the string goes slacker

Who makes a good whammy pedal? How could it possibly be as much fun as the real thing? Trems and convertible tops always break down. Maybe that's from buying old stuff.

Use the whammy gently. If you hit a note then dive bomb it to hell, of course you will lose sustain!! The Mustang trem has lots of movement, you just need to use it gently and slowly.

Have you ever tried a Jazzmaster trem? Mine barely does anything. It's very subtle. I don't dive bomb--I use it more of a rockabilly style. The JM is nice, but I don't know if it works for me overall.

is the body of the Jagstang more like a Jag...upper horn sure looks longer than the Mustang. So what's the Mustang parts and what's the Jag parts, apart from the pickups?

The 'Jag' bit is just the shape.

The offset butt and extended upper horn is from a jag.

The only other difference is the humbucker at the bridge.

BTW, mumblyjoe doesn't come round here..... He's not at offset of shortscale.... Where is he? I want to see his jagstang project!! 😛
