Would have been cooler if they'd put a trem on the 12string part as well.

I hate double necks though, even vintage Jaguar double necks with blocks and binding.

Me too, but pop a normal jag input, make it lefty and sonic blue with matching headstocks and I'd want it.

12 strings through a jaguar trem would require drilling 6 more holes. but those electric VII bridges are made as standard like that, aren't they?

I'm actually amazed they did not use an Electric XII bridge as usual on such things, instead they used what appears to be a Duo-Sonic tailplate custom drilled for 12 Strings and a regular Jaguar Rocker bridge. I'm also surprised the guy chose to take a photo with the High-E missing off the Six string side.

ah right. i thought it was an electric VII bridge. at first i even thought it was a mustang bridge/trem...

perhaps they are just jaguar saddles. since they have multiple grooves anyway

what would be cool is if they'd based the 12-string entirely on the Fender XII and then had a jaguar for the lower part... it'd still look relatively like either guitar because they're sort of similar and it would be super cool.

What's the foam block between the bridge and bridge pickup of the 6 string? Cool other than that, I've never plaid a double neck and have always wondered, I know the strap length to me makes a big difference, even an inch is the difference between comfort and a bad back, but there it'd be like constantly changing stap length all the time, dunno, that's why I want to play one.

I've never owned a Jag and have only played one in a shop a long long time ago, I don't really know much about them at all to be honest. I also virtually never venture past the All other guitars forum to learn about them.

It's basically a bit of metal with some rubber on it attached to a spring. So you can flip it up and it dampens the strings, like an automatic palm muter. It was only included with the original Jaguars as it was very unpopular, most peole just took it off. Partly because you could just palm mute with your palm and partly because when you turned the mute on it put your guitar a semitone out of tune with the rest of the band.

not being funny or anything here, but most people who don't like the mute usually have never played with one. it only puts the guitar noticably out of key as you move up the neck. they sound ok with other instruments. and have a purcussive sound all of their own, that can sound a bit different to normal palm muting.

also, taking a mute off seems pointless. if you thought it looked dumb, then i could understand. but a mute does not interfere with anything. so mayaswell leave it

Yeah, I've never used a mute, so I'm just basing my views on what I've heard. I was thinking about fitting a mute to my CIJ, just for the looks, but decided that it was too much hard work just to make it look a bit more original.

ha, you're not the only one.

i think maybe the 4 switches on the diamond shaped control plate correspond to each of the 4 pups that are on the guitar. but what exactly happens when you flick the rhythm switch upwards, well, who knows?
